Food and Features Writer, Author, Marketing Strategist

Ed Tijerina is an award-winning writer who has been widely published,  including in Eater, First We Feast, Epicurious, Thrillist and The Local  Palate. He writes monthly about dining and food for San Antonio  Magazine. A one-time restaurateur, he’s author of the guidebook San  Antonio’s Best Restaurants.

The Association of Food  Journalists has honored Ed for best newspaper feature story during his  tenure at the San Antonio Express-News, and he anchored the newspaper’s  Taste section during its seven-year run as best in the country in its  circulation class. In his final year at the newspaper, he served as  editor of the section. Also at the newspaper, he wrote the “Around the  Town” column and was named best columnist by a local magazine. Before  moving to his family’s hometown, his journalism career took him to the  Chicago Tribune, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and Corpus Christi  Caller-Times.

He currently serves as Director of  Strategic Marketing & Communications at Keystone School, which the  College Board has called the “best in the world.” At Keystone, he  creates and executes strategies in a variety of media to target  potential families, retain them and convert them into brand evangelists  for the school. Before Keystone, he led his own marketing firm and  helped local companies increase their visibility and effectiveness.

He’s  a graduate of Harvard College and the Columbia School of Journalism and  currently serves as the President of the Harvard Club of San Antonio.
